Travelling is a lot of fun. But when you have to bring along your little ones, then you have a lot to consider before proceeding with the trip. Whether it is a long journey, a short one, on the road, or in an aeroplane, be prepared for any surprises along the way.
Plan ahead before you start packing for your children. Make a list of all the basic items they would likely need. Bring along a first aid kit. Include in your stash some medication for motion sickness, an insect repellent, sunblock, a pack of tissue and baby wipes, and paper towels. Expect your kids to be hungry during your trip, too, so be sure to take with you some snacks. You can stock up on healthy crackers, chocolate bars, and sandwiches. Also keep bottled juice or water.
It is also advisable that you organize fun activities to keep your children from becoming restless during the trip. Pack in your luggage some colouring books, crayons or even a deck of cards. Keep them entertained so they would not feel the boredom of the long flight ahead. Get your children involved in your outing by allowing them to carry their own bags. Give them each a small backpack where you can place a set of clothes for them in case your baggage gets lost or an immediate wardrobe change is required. You can also let them carry one of their favourite toys to keep them company. To ensure your little ones' safety, consider providing them with identification cards or bracelets just in case they would get lost.
